It has been a few weeks since I’ve been seeing those “Press L to see what happens” shares going viral on Facebook. Apparently, it has come to my knowledge that Facebook boasts slick keyboard shortcuts to streamline the social networking experience. Delving further into researching on other existing keyboard shortcuts besides the “L for Photo Like”, I’ve come across many others.

Interestingly, I am going to get to the point now and present you with a list of those 14 must-know Facebook keyboard shortcuts. But before that, there are a few caveats to this; that means it is essential to know the different key modifiers for each of the browsers on either Windows or Mac. In order to use the Facebook keyboard shortcuts on your Windows and Mac, you have to use the following modifiers:

Windows

Firefox: Shift + Alt + #
Chrome: Alt + #

Mac

Firefox : Control + #

Chrome: Control + Option + #
Safari: Control + Option + #

To use the shortcuts, you have to simply press the number along with the key sequences (depends on what browser you’re using and the OS off course). So for instance, if you’re using a Chrome on your Mac (like I am) then you would do: Control + Option + 1 to access the Facebook Home page (where all the News Feeds get shown). Isn’t it nice? Yep, I know it is and I am sure that once you start fiddling around with the rest of those shortcuts, you’ll feel like a Facebook Pro.
